Stop Modern Slavery Walk Organizing Team
Stop Modern Slavery, Inc. is recruiting volunteers to help plan and promote the 2011 DC Stop Modern Slavery Walk. Our goal is to raise awareness by bringing the community together and raising funds for anti-human trafficking nonprofits.. The 2010 walk was the largest anti-slavery demonstration of its type ever held in Washington, DC, raising over $100,000 and involving more than 2,000 participants. This year's walk will occur on October 22nd on the National Mall.

‘Wild World of Play’ sponsored by the National Wildlife Federation
Do you enjoy the outdoors and working with children? On Saturday, Sept 24th, the National Wildlife Federation will be taking part in the 'World Wide Day of Play' on the National Mall (DC) on the Ellipse .This event is co-sponsored by the cable TV channel Nickelodeon. We will be doing a series of fun activities - a scavenger hunt to learn about wildlife, playing outdoor games that feature wildlife and helping to learn about geo-caching (tech version of a scavenger hunt). But, we need your help! The National Wildlife Federation is looking for enthusiastic 'fun' volunteers (adults and teenagers) who would be interested in participating. We hope to see you there.
